New Play and Stay Options and Hot Group Deals to Get You Here
As ski and snowboard season arrives at Mt. Rainier, the biggest challenge ends up being getting to — and parking at — Crystal Mountain. Did you know there are options that benefit groups who go together and stay together?
Crystal Mountain’s New Transportation Initiatives
Beginning Saturday, December 21st, 2019, Crystal Mountain kicks off seasonal carpooling and bus services aimed at reducing traffic during crunch times like weekends and holidays. This green option provides you and your group with an affordable alternative to jockeying for a rare parking spot near the resort.
Parking at Crystal Mountain
Only 250 spots are reserved in Parking Lot A (the closest parking lot to the resort). Vehicles with groups of four people or more are given priority access on a first arrival basis until those spots are full. This is carpooling initiative is in effect every day starting December 21, 2019. That sounds like plenty of room until the ski school kids are factored in. Starting in January CMAC will add another 400 kids on the mountain. Generally, parents stay and ski while the kids get their lessons, which definitely impacts parking availability. Lots fill up fast, so consider other options to get there safe and sound.
$40 Gets you a ROUNDTRIP ticket
The first bus routes include locations in Seattle, Bellevue, and Tacoma. The Crystal Mountain Express roundtrip services are provided by Starline Collection luxury coaches. Each trip accommodates 56 passengers with roundtrip fares set at $40 – less than the cost of a tank of gas. Definitely less than the aggravation of being turned away at the resort because the lot is full.
$20 Round Trip from Enumclaw Fairgrounds
Stay at Crystal Rainier Retreat and park near the Enumclaw Fairgrounds/Expo Center. Let the experienced coach drivers get you to Crystal Mountain in style. The coaches are equipped with Wi-Fi and restrooms. Get a new view of the road up to Crystal and enjoy the beautiful scenery as you stretch out in comfort on the roomy coach! No more worrying if you’ll be turned away at the resort’s parking lot. No more negotiating slick roads, full parking lots, or nervous drivers.
Uber’s New Uber Ski Service
If the luxury coach service isn’t your thing, you can now order UberSki in Seattle. Uber is testing out a new service in select cities, including Seattle. This extra feature enables you to select an SUV with a roof rack and extra room for gear.
Crystal Rainier Retreat Group Stay Deals
The cabin is one of the best deals on the mountain for groups. It’s no surprise that Crystal Rainier Retreat books out fast during ski season. The main cabin sleeps 6 adults and there’s plenty of room for the kids. The connected studio is an option you can add to your reservation with room for 2 more adults and 2 kids.
By pooling resources as a group, the cost of staying overnight plummets. Based on 6 adults, the cost to stay during ski season comes to about $50 per adult, per night (excluding the cost of tax and cleaning fees). The cabin is kid and family-friendly, too. Bring your friends and family and save while enjoying room to relax.
Full-Sized Luxury House
No more banging your hip on the bathroom counter as you turn in place to close the door! We’ve looked at some of the options near Crystal Mountain and noticed a surprising lack of space in their designs. Walls you can practically touch by standing in the middle of the room and spreading out your arms. This may work for some people, but we believe an important part of your ski and stay time is staying comfortably. Full-sized kitchen, entertainment area, bedrooms, and more – Crystal Rainier Retreat was built for people to hang out together without feeling cramped. The cabin is close to Enumclaw where your group can take advantage of the $20 roundtrip luxury coach up to Crystal Mountain for a day or skiing. Take a look at the calendar and book your group stay!
